How SkiBig3 Transformed Mountain Adventure Bookings with Spotlio’s Future-Ready Commerce Platform
Reimagining the Guest Journey—One Click at a Time
Meet SkiBig3:
Tucked in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, SkiBig3 isn’t a single mountain—it’s the gateway to Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise, and Mt. Norquay, three world-class resorts within Banff National Park. For over a decade, SkiBig3’s digital platform has been a reliable driver of revenue growth, serving skiers and snowboarders from around the globe. But with technology and guest expectations evolving rapidly, SkiBig3 saw an opportunity to get ahead of the curve—delivering an even more seamless, high-performance online experience.
The Opportunity: Staying Nimble and Ahead
The previous site had served SkiBig3 well for many years, but the team recognized the chance to take a big step forward. They envisioned a next-generation platform that would bring the cart and website into one seamless experience, make mobile booking effortless, and give them more independence in managing Inntopia content directly on the site. Just as importantly, they wanted the digital experience to fully reflect the SkiBig3 brand while being simpler for their team to maintain behind the scenes.
Above all, SkiBig3 wanted to give skiers a frictionless booking journey they were confident would drive higher conversion rates.
The Turning Point
Since 2015, SkiBig3 had relied on Spotlio’s booking layer atop Inntopia’s inventory engine. But last summer, the partnership deepened: SkiBig3 with their Marketing and Reservations teams, plus a trusted ad agency partner and Spotlio, came together with a shared goal: build one united, high-performance commerce platform that feels effortless to guests while driving maximum return on ad spend.
The Breakthrough Solution: Unified Future Ready Stack
By February, SkiBig3 unveiled a completely re-engineered site—rebuilt from scratch on a modern, fully headless CMS. Running on GraphQL APIs and already MCP(Model Context Protocol) ready, the new architecture is built for the next wave of AI agents and smart automation.
Decoupling content from design, and adding native multilingual support, made the site lighter to manage, lightning-fast to browse, and far smarter at tailoring bookings to each visitor. Spotlio migrated more than 100 legacy WordPress posts in a matter of hours, and thanks to deep Inntopia integration, guests can now browse and book lodging, activities, packages, or tickets from any page on the site.
Conclusion:
By unifying content and commerce on a headless, AI-ready platform—and embedding Inntopia’s inventory inside every page—SkiBig3 has transformed frictionless browsing into effortless buying. With Spotlio as its strategic partner, the resort hasn’t just refreshed its tech stack; it has raised the digital bar for mountain destinations everywhere.
