Boyne Resorts was set up in 1947 by Everett Kircher who, for just $1, was able to buy the land necessary to begin the development of Boyne Mountain. Today, Boyne Resorts operates 9 mountain destinations scattered across North America including Big Sky, Boyne Highlands, and the Canadian resort of Cypress Mountain, host of the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding events of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hiring around 7000 full time and seasonal staff and with almost 4 million ski visits per year this family run business continues to go from strength to strength.
In their relentless pursuit of excellence they decided to develop a set of destination apps for their leading resorts that would delight customers with vacation enriching functionality and live information whilst also serving as a valuable mobile sales channel. After studying the various options and providers available, SPOTLIO was selected by Boyne Resorts to be their partner on this project.
To date, all nine of the Boyne Resorts have launched their own fully branded mobile destination app. Each of these apps can be managed centrally or by the individual resorts via the same easy-to-use intuitive management console which allows real time structural and design changes as well as content management.
Packed with experience enriching features for all season sports enthusiasts such as GPS tracking, real-time lift and run status, maps, snow conditions, weather forecasts, and the latest information regarding local events and businesses.
These state-of-the-art destination apps are also effective data gathering tools which provide the marketing department with detailed customer profiles and preferences. This valuable information can then be shared and used to improve the overall experience of the guests across all the resorts and to target promotions and communications.
